简介与讲座摘要如下:
Here is a brief bio:
Professor Martin Purvis is Director of the University of Otago
Information Science Department's Software Engineering &
Collaborative Modelling Laboratory, a centre for research in
distributed information systems, agent-based software engineering,
workflow and process modelling, and mobile applications. He is
also the Director of both the Telecommunications and Software
Engineering programmes in Applied Science at the University of
Otago, and he has also been the principal investigator on a number
of externally-funded research projects. His teaching activities
include both mobile telecommunications and software engineering.
And here is an abstract for a presentation that I can deliver:
Multi-agent systems offer an intuitive way to model the world.
They are particularly appropriate for modelling complex,
distributed interactive systems that are afforded by ICT. So
multi-agent systems can be used as a modelling and simulation
technique for understanding complex systems. But multi-agent
technology can also be used for the underlying infrastructure of
deployed distributed interactive systems. This can make the
software engineering of these systems more natural and robust. In
this talk, I will discuss some of our research at the University
of Otago, New Zealand, in the area of multi-agent systems
technology. Our work includes improved software techniques for
agent cooperation and also a micro-agent system that can be used
on Android mobile equipment.
